ENSEMBLE COMPANY
Seeking strong performers who are flexible team players with an ensemble aesthetic and understanding of Off-Off Broadway/Indie Theatre. .
Ensemble Auditions are held once per year, usually February/March.
The Ensemble company is the core artistic fellowship of Rising Sun Performance Company and the guiding artistic representation and voice of the Company's projects and work.
Ensemble members are expected to carry a part of the responsibility of the fundraising, artistic and production quality and be committed to the success of the entire season. The commitment level is to the company and not individual productions or performances. The Ensemble is NO PAY; profit sharing is possible based on the success of the season

We have ongoing need for professional & emerging directors for all of our productions.
Directors MUST be willing to work in a collaborative environment in a grassroots level Non-Profit Theatre Company, be willing to cast from within the existing ensemble and have boundless Talent, Creativity, and Flexibility. Particularly looking for directors who are capable of and enjoy working within the limitations and unique challenges of OOBR/Indie theatre spaces & budgets.
No Pay but a great opportunity to build resume, networking, and resources. We can work under the SSDC contract wiaver.
Resident Directors: We invite select directors who have an established relationship with our company to join our ensemble. This is by invitation from the Artistic Director only at this time.
Submission guidelines: Provide a cover letter, including your artistic statement or philosphy, resume and at least one professional or school reference to submissions@risingsunnyc.com. Include DIRECTOR SUBMISSION in subject line.

INTERNSHIPS
3, 6, & 12 month internships
Be a part of a resident theatre season on the lower east side of Manhattan, on a block that is teeming with theatre activity. Spend your internship in a unique environment driven by an ensemble aesthetic and sense of community, while learning about the inner workings and day to day realities of an Independent Theatre Company.
We offer several types of internships:
Arts Administration: General Mgmt, Fundraising & Marketing
Production/Technical: Run Crew, Board Op, Construction, Props
Design: Sound, Costume, Lighting, Props, Set
Stage/Production Management
This is a very hands on program, and interns must be willing to work and learn in a grassroots type environment. Applicants should have interest in pursing a career in arts administrations, design, stage management, or production.
RSP will provide all letters required for school credit and letter of reference for future job searches as well as any other career assistance as possible.
Internship is a no pay position. Interns will be able to participate at no cost in theatre workshops, classes. Ensemble lab sessions, and will receive free tickets to shows at our resident theatre.

Annual One Act Series:
We hold an open call for One Act Play Scripts annually. Submission Dates: November 1st 2011 to January 15th 2012
Plays will be vetted by RSP Ensemble, and the top 15-25 plays will receive a staged reading for the public in spring, from the reading series, audience & ensemble favorites will be given a fully produced run in the summer of 2010.
Seeking Contemporary themed, Ensemble driven works; all genres and subjects considered.
For 2012- We are especially seeking One Act Plays that take place in a HOTEL or MOTEL ROOM
Cast Age range should be Mid-Twenties to Late 30s.
Cast size should be no larger than 5 people.
Running time should be 10 to 20 Minutes.
Plays should be no more than 30 pages in length.
Unit/Basic Set with uncomplicated production values.
