Immediately seeking
Non-Equity Stage Managers & Assistant Stage Managers
(ASM will have some CCO duties)
For our Theater for Young Audience Park Series
Outdoor in-person performances at various NYC parks over summer 2021

We are seeking a Production Stage Manager for our July Production of Playing Possum and How the Zebra lost its stripes. This position would begin immediately.
We are also seeking Two to Four Assistant Stage Managers for BOTH our July and August productions. Assistant Stage Managers would have some light Covid Compliance Responsibilities as well.

We need flexible team players with an ensemble aesthetic and understanding of Indie Theatre. We work across multiple types of venues including traditional theatre venues, festival formats and non-traditional site specific spaces. 

This project is produced by Rising Sun Performance Company
Playwrights include Judd Lear Silverman, The Anthropologists, Holly Hepp-Galván and E. Merwin. Directorial Team is TBA

Production Requirements:
This production is Non-Union 
All production team must be fully vaccinated with proof
Fully vaccinated means at least 2 weeks from the final dose of your vaccine by the first rehearsal date
All production team must adhere to a safety plan (to be shared at the offer; may involve weekly Covid testing) 
All Team members must uphold and honor our anti-racism, anti-harrassment and Body Consent policies and processes

Production Meetings: One Production Meeting per week via zoom

Rehearsals - In-person, indoors and outdoors in multiple boroughs)
June 24-July 24 schedules to be determined with Director & Cast
August 18-20  brush-up rehearsals on Gov Island 

Performances - In-person, outdoors in multiple boroughs
July 10 - Van Cortlandt Park
July 11 - Van Cortlandt Park
July 17 - Central Park* 
July 18 - Van Cortlandt Park
July 24 -  Hunters Point Park, Long Island City Queens
July 31 - Fort Greene Park*
August 21 - Governors Island (Performance Schedule TBD) 
August 22 - Governors Island  (Performance Schedule TBD)
August 27-28 - Rain/Heat Alternative Dates for Governors Island

August 21 - Governors Island 2 Shows per day, Schedule TBA
August 22 - Governors Island  2 Shows per day, Schedule TBA
August 27-28 - Rain/Heat Alternative Dates for Governors Island 

Pay Information- These are Stipends basis
Production Stage Manager (July show) will receive $450-500
Assistant Stage Managers will receive $200-300 (depening on which project)
We are actively fundraising for these projects, and if goals are met stipends may be increased 

Job Duties:

Production Stage Manager
Create and communicate production Calendar for both shows, including rehearsals, production meetings and performance schedules
Communicate rehearsal and performance venues and call times to all cast and production team members
Manage two double casts for all rehearsals and performances (12 actors in total)
Work with two directors to create rehearsal schedules for two short plays
Communicate production needs with Director, designer and RSP staff including:
Props
Costumes
Set pieces 
PPE/Safety equipment
Sound/technical needs
Rehearsal equipment
Ensure the physical and emotional safety of the rehearsal room
Schedule and run weekly production meetings 
Create a set-up and breakdown plan for each performance date
Manage any onsite park related issues & park ranger liason day of performance
Transport the Costumes/Props to and from each performance (with ASM) 
Attend and call and performances
Communicate with Front of House during shows regarding show start time and any audience needs/ safety concerns
Manage Assistant Stage Managers in rehearsal and backstage needs
Act as a liaison between the cast and stage management team, and Rising Sun Staff
Send out Daily Calls
Send out Rehearsal Reports
Drivers License helpful and preferred, but not required 
Covid Compliance Certificate is not required, but encouraged

Assistant Stage Managers/ Covid Compliance Officers:
Assist Production Stage Manager in rehearsals and performances as discussed with Production Stage Manager. Tasks may include:
Prop tracking
Sound/tech cue tracking
Communicating with actors
Rehearsal and Performance Setup and Breakdown 
Act as run crew on all performances 
Ensure Health and Safety Plan is being followed at all rehearsals and performances
Perform daily health check ins with cast and crew before rehearsal begins
Attend weekly production meetings
Co-Manage any onsite park related issues & park ranger liason day of performance
Transport the Costumes/Props to and from each performance (with SM) 
Manage the Audience Wranglers/Production Assistants
Attend RSP’s Covid Compliance training session, and follow-up meetings/emails with Health and Safety Committee Liaisons to ensure safety plans are being enforced and are up to date
Stay on top of CDC updates and communicate health and safety changes with Health and Safety committee
Assist Production Stage Manager in ensuring all rehearsals and performances are physically and emotionally safe areas
Drivers License helpful and preferred, but not required 
Covid Compliance Certificate is not required, but encouraged
